There are 4 types of film openings,titles on a blank screen,titles on a still image,titles over moving images and titles using animation or motion.All 4 of these film openings have advantages and main conventions with reasons for their use.My favourite type of film opening is titles using animation or motion.This is because up to date technology is used along with editing to make the film opening more vibrant,interactive and enjoyable for the audience.
In this film opening of 'honey I shrunk the kids',using titles using animation or motion makes the audience more interested and understanding of the film.It sets the genre clearly,and allows the audience to get an idea of what's going to take place in the film.The characters of children running after each other displayed in the animation was used to represent the children in the film and how they behave.I enjoy this film opening because it moves at a fast pace but still shows clear titles along with displaying the genre clearly.
