'Coraline' (2009) - Title over moving images
My favourite 'type' of a title sequence is the title over moving images. This is because it gives hints to what the movie could be about and leaves you questioning and wondering what could be next.
The reason I chose this title sequence is because it has it's own style to it. The moving images are of rag dolls and buttons which relate to the story ahead. They don't necessarily show us what happens in the film, but instead create an atmosphere which leads us to finding out what exactly happens in the plot. The use of melancholy and dark colours along with the innocent-like child music gives it an almost haunted feeling. The movie itself can be perceived as rather haunted and sinister, although it features children in it so it leaves it up to the audience to make their own assumptions on wherever this is suitable for a younger audience.
