The film title sequence of 'Forrest Gump' is a narrative title sequence as it starts with An establishing shot which is then the start of the movie. As the film title sequence begins,an establishing shot is shown of the setting of a busy town and buildings with a soft feather floating with the wind.Along with this was a piano tune playing along as the soundtrack which helped the audience to understand the film and guess the genre. The main character then was shown along with the location and setting of him sitting alone on a bench. There is no story or plot demonstrated in the title sequence but the feather could easily be a metaphor for what will happen in the movie. The title credits were displayed clearly in a white font over the motion easy to read. The setting of the film title sequence displayed a calm atmosphere giving the impression that 'Forrest Gump' is a thriller/romance genre.

The film title of 'hostage' was a stylised title sequence, using lots of animation and effects on the animation used behind the title credits. The film opening starts with plain white bold title credits over a dark background, then including animation of a dark setting of buildings shortly after.Animations of police cars, guns, and dark imagery was shown throughout. At the end of the title sequence,it then changes from animation to real life and displayed a man screaming out of a house which could show the plot of the film,or main character. The music used creates a scary atmosphere with danger which could suggest the film 'hostage' to be from the horror or thriller genre.
