RESEARCH -Post 11- RESEARCH- Genre Preferences and Audiences in the UK

-Statistical Yearbook 2014 Summary-

Genre:

Audiences:

- The 7-14 Age group and 35-44's choice of film have been very similar which may be due to parents and carers taking children to the cinema.
-The three most popular films within the 25-34 age group were; Monsters University, Frozen, Oz the Great and Powerful.
-The films that were the most popular with the middle class audiences were; Rush, Captain Phillips, Gravity, Filth and About Time.
-Interestingly, the differences between London and Scotland film choices were not surprising. Scotland has more family movies where as London has more action and thrilling movies on show. Perhaps it is due to targeting a specific audience, for example Scotland, thinking about family homes and how to bring families together whereas London is a big city where people are always in a rush and ready for a thrill.
