blog post 21- Practical remake activity -evaluation

In the process of remaking the title sequence of 'gone girl' I agree that it was successful. It was easy to note down the shots used in the title sequence as we are familiar with them after learning about them and also using a range of shots in our prelim activity. It was easy to storyboard each shot as the shots used were mainly just of a scene easy to find in a street or area with lots of tree's.We chose to use the location of outside college which worked well as we found similar places to the shots used in gone girl, mainly just of buildings, tree's and nature.

We didn't need to change costume as the characters only appeared once and their clothing didn't have an impact on the scene so we didn't need to have the same outfit as the characters in gone girl.Creating the title credits was an easy process as we were taught how to use the software beforehand making it quick and easy to create titles. The titles were also very plain so they didn't take long to create. When deciding on the font we chose a simple plain one that was easy to read and also similar to the one used in gone girl,we chose the font colour as white because it was the best colour to use over dark images and black screens throughout the title sequence. We had the same size titles throughout so it was similar to the title size in gone girl,we also made sure the titles were a reasonable size for the audience to read. The font we chose worked successfully as it wasn't too fancy and hard to read,it was bold, clear and suited the tone of the film. The title credits were placed over the images however they were contrasting, not a part of the images being shown. The title credits were placed so that they were clear and not hidden in the title sequence. If I was to do this task again I would make sure that I used a wider range of shots and made sure I used better camera skills and in one shot the camera is at an angle making the filming bad quality.I would also use a wider range of props to make sure the remake was as similar to the real title sequence as it could be.
