WHAT MAKES A GOOD TITLE SEQUENCE ACCORDING TO KYLE COOPER
According to Cooper a good title sequence makes the audience forget everything around them, it is exciting and it sets an expectation about the film and its genre.
He personally liked the way how the title was presented in the Deadzone's title sequence.
The other title sequence that he talks about is the To Kill a Mocking Bird. He liked the way how it was beautifully photographed with the contrasting (sharp and roundy) shapes in tones of shapes.
By "story based" he explains a methapor for showing what the film is about.
There could be problems that the studio faces after an audience test screening which is that if they do not like it, they cannot botherd to go out and shoot bits again or that the audience simply do not understand some of the aspects of the title sequence.
Lastly, the two and an a half minutes long title sequence really important for the studio because it gives info about the film and it introduces the film with adding piece and bits of it; and also because it is communicating with the audience with giving more information.
